About Dural Repair
Dural repair is a type of surgery which restores the natural cushion between the two vertebrae in the spinal column. It can be carried out with either synthetic materials or biological grafts. A procedure called biologic dural repair replaces the natural cushion that exists between two vertebrae in the spinal column. It can be performed using either synthetic or biological grafts. Dural tears are repaired using microsurgical techniques. Dural repair is frequently utilized in neurosurgery procedures to fix problems in the dura, leathery membrane which covers and protects the brain and spinal cord.
