What is Photoelectric Smoke Detector?
A photoelectric smoke detector is also known as smoke alarm which comprises of a light sensitive sensor and light emitting diode located in a sensing chamber. The suspended smoke particles in the chamber scatters the light beam. This scattered light is detected by the light sensitive sensor. Photoelectric smoke alarms are known for quick response as it able to detect scattered light. The alarms which has set detects the presence of smoke in the chamber and it deflects the LED light.
