About Tenoning Machine
In the woodworking industry, a tenoning machine is a machine that makes tenons and lugs on pieces to be joined. Tenoning machines may be made to create frame or box tenons. Tenons are cut on one end of the workpiece for one operating cycle on some machines; on others, tenons are cut concurrently on both ends during one cycle on others (double side machines). The first type of machine operates in stages, while the second type operates straight forward. Straight-sided and dovetail tenons may also be formed by box tenon machines. Usual milling-type planers mounted on the machine spindle form straight-sided tenons; end-milling planers mounted on vertical spindles form dovetail tenons. Tenoning machines consist of rigid, cast frames, clamping mechanisms, and special columns.
