Global Digital Loop Carrier System Market Overview:
A digital loop backing (DLC) system is used to provide narrowband and broadband services at the edge of a network. The DLC system uses digital techniques to provide a wide range of services to users. A DLC system can manage large amounts of different types of data and audio or conference services from different types of transmission cables. A subscriber line is a physical connection between the telecommunications service provider and the main switchboard on the user's premises for telephone communications. Technological progress means that subscriber lines are being replaced by DLC systems. A DLC system uses digital transmission to convert analog signals to digital and multiplex them back to the endpoint, increasing the number of channels in the local loop. The DLC system can accommodate hundreds of calls over twisted-pair copper wires, increasing the capacity of the installed cable system. The geographic area served by a DLC system is basically known as the Carrier Serving Area (CSA). A DLC system is usually installed within one mile of the customer's premises, it is either in a secure hardened cabinet above the ground or in a weatherproof underground arrangement. The closer the DLC system is to the end-user, the shorter the analog line and therefore much better the result in terms of service delivery.
