About Plant Phenol
Plant phenol are generally involved in UV radiation defence or pathogen, parasite, and predator aggression, as well as contributing to plant colour. They are found in all plant organs and are thus an essential part of the human diet. Plant Phenol are aromatic benzene ring compounds with one or more hydroxyl groups that plants produce primarily to protect themselves from stress. It is difficult to overestimate the roles of phenolic compounds in plant physiology and interactions with biotic and abiotic environments. Phenolics play critical roles in plant development, particularly in the biosynthesis of lignin and pigments. Plants benefit from structural integrity and scaffolding support as well. Importantly, phenolic phytoalexins secreted by wounded or otherwise disturbed plants repel or kill many microorganisms, and some pathogens can counteract, nullify, or even subvert these defences to their advantage. In this review, we discuss the roles of phenol in plant-Agrobacterium and Rhizobium interactions.

The global market is highly competitive and consists of a limited number of providers who compete with each other. The intense competition, changing consumer spending patterns, demographic trends, and frequent changes in consumer preferences pose significant opportunities for market growth. The companies are exploring the market by adopting expansions, investments, new service launches and collaborations as their preferred strategies. The players are exploring new geographies through expansions and acquisitions across the globe to gain competitive advantage through combined collaborations. Analyst at AMA Research estimates that United Kingdom & Taiwan Vendors will contribute the maximum growth to Global Plant Phenol market throughout the forecasted period. Established and emerging Vendors should take a closer view at their existing organizations and reinvent traditional business and operating models to adapt to the future.

Ineos Ltd (United Kingdom), Compania Espanola de Petroleos SAU (Spain), China Petrochemical Corp (China), Formosa Plastics Group (Taiwan), Royal Dutch Shell Plc (United Kingdom), Mitsui Chemicals Inc (Japan), Kumho Petrochemical Co Ltd (South Korea), Saudi Basic Industries Corp (Saudi Arabia), Chang Chun Plastics Co Ltd (Taiwan) and LG Chem Ltd (South Korea) are some of the key players that are part of study coverage. Additionally, the Vendors which are also part of the research coverage are Solvay SA (Belgium), ALTIVIA Chemicals (United States) and Others.

Segmentation Overview
AMA Research has segmented the market of Global Plant Phenol market by Type (Phenolic Resins, Caprolactum, Bisphenol-A and Others) and Region.

On the basis of geography, the market of Plant Phenol has been segmented into South America (Brazil, Argentina, Rest of South America), Asia Pacific (China, Japan, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Rest of Asia-Pacific), Europe (Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Rest of Europe), MEA (Middle East, Africa), North America (United States, Canada, Mexico). If we see Market by End User, the sub-segment i.e. Chemical will boost the Plant Phenol market. Additionally, the rising demand from SMEs and various industry verticals gives enough cushion to market growth.

Market Leaders and their expansionary development strategies
On 29th June 2020, BP announced that it has agreed to sell its global petrochemicals business to INEOS for USD 5 billion, subject to customary adjustments. The agreed sale, the next strategic step in reinventing BP, will further strengthen BP's balance sheet and allow it to meet its target for agreed divestments a year earlier than planned.
On 14th June 2022, INEOS Phenol has launched the first bio-attributed product line for phenol, acetone alphamethylstyrene (AMS). The inviridis trademark will be used to market these products, which are made without using fossil fuels as a feedstock. They are a game changer in the global phenol industry, offering a more environmentally friendly and long-term alternative to traditional phenol, acetone, and AMS.
Plants accumulate phenolic compounds in their tissues as an adaptive response to adverse environmental conditions, and they play an important role in the regulation of various environmental stresses such as high light, low temperatures, pathogen infection, herbivores, and nutrient deficiency. This chapter describes the biosynthesis, role, and regulation of plant phenol in response to various abiotic stresses.
