Global Biodiesel Feedstock Market Overview:
Alkyl ester biodiesel is produced from renewable feedstocks such algae, vegetable oil, and animal fat waste. Additionally, the composition and characteristics of biodiesel are similar to those of petroleum-based diesel. Petro-diesel, often known as diesel, is a non-renewable fossil fuel made from crude oil that will eventually run out of supply. Due to the fact that diesel is manufactured from non-renewable resources, energy costs rise, particularly as crude oil supply declines. While glycerides, which make up the majority of the feedstock, are exchanged with the organic group of an alcohol during the transesterification reaction that results in the production of biodiesel and glycerol as a byproduct. One of the widely used biofuels is biodiesel, which is used extensively in the US, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, France, Germany, and other European nations. From 3.5 million tonnes in 2005 to 16 million tonnes in 2010, 29 million tonnes in 2016, and an estimated 36.5 million tonnes or more in 2025, biodiesel output has increased significantly.

Market Growth Drivers:
Increasing Energy Demand of the World Due To Rapidly Expanding Population and Accelerated Industrialization Is Primarily Satisfied By Non-Renewable Fossil Fuels

Challenges:
Food Shortage and Lack of Awareness Regarding the Biodiesel

Restraints:
High Cost of Production, Variation in Quality of Biodiesel and Not Suitable for Use in Low Temperatures

Opportunities:
Rise Biofuel Demand Has Contributed To Higher World Food and Feed Prices, Rises Energy Security, Expands Air Quality and the Environment and Offers Safety Benefits

Competitive Landscape:
Due to its renewable status and favourable effects on the environment, biodiesel is a potential and increasingly alluring fuel for diesel engines. The primary factor to consider is the greater cost of biofuels compared to fossil fuel. The cost of producing biodiesel is thought to be effectively reduced by using low-quality feedstocks, such as animal fats and non-edible oils, which do not compete with the food supply or the land used for growing food. The current work illustrates various treatment procedures to lower the high FFA content of the feedstock. Since glycerolysis is quicker, less hazardous, and more affordable than acid esterification, it offers numerous advantages over that process. There has been little research done on glycerolysis therapy; additional research and debate are needed.
