About Biogas-
Biogas is a renewable energy source produced by the breakdown of organic matter, such as food scraps, animal waste, and sewage, in an oxygen-free environment (anaerobic digestion). This process is driven by microorganisms, called methanogens, which break down the organic matter and release biogas as a byproduct. Biogas is a mixture of gases, primarily methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2), with smaller amounts of hydrogen sulfide (H2S), moisture, and siloxanes. Biogas is a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy source because it is derived from organic waste that would otherwise decompose in landfills and release methane into the atmosphere. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas, so capturing and using it as an energy source helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The biogas market is expected to see positive growth in the coming years, driven by its potential to contribute to a sustainable and renewable energy future.
