About NdPr Oxide
NdPr oxide is neodymium-praseodymium oxide, which is a mixture of neodymium oxide (Nd2O3) and praseodymium oxide (Pr6O11) in proportions mimicking their natural occurrence in rare earth ores. The powder appears grayish or brownish, and NdPr oxide is a key raw material used in the manufacture of high-performance neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets. These magnets find application in virtually all modern technologies, most importantly in the rapidly expanding clean energy sector, including electric vehicles (EVs) and wind turbines. This is due to their unmatched magnetic strength for a given size and weight. Thus, NdPr oxide is in high demand because of the growing use of EVs and wind power generation, wherein NdFeB magnets are used in the efficient motors and generators. While China is still the dominant player in the market for rare earth oxides, including NdPr oxide, efforts are being made to diversify the supply chain to meet expected future demand from the green technology revolution. NdPr oxide finds other applications in specialty glasses, alloys, and certain other electronics.
