In May 2020, German luxury motorcycle manufacturer BMW Motorrad launched the F 900 R roadster and F 900 XR sport tourer bikes in India, priced at Rs 9.9-11.5 lakh. Both bikes are being imported from the company's factory in Germany. Both bikes are powered by a water-cooled 4-stroke inline 2-cylinder 895cc engine with 4 valves per cylinder, 2 overhead camshafts, and dry sump lubrication. It produces 105 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 92 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The motorcycle can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of over 200 km/h.
