French Cruise company Ponant is aiming to change that by installing the passenger lounge in the hull of its new Le Laperouse liner. The architect plans to create a futuristic feel and accommodate up to 40 people. Non-instructive underwater light will be installed outside the portholes to allow observation of the seabeds and of photoluminescent fish and plant life. High-resolution digital screen will dot the lounge, displaying live aquatic images filmed by underwater cameras placed at the front, back and centre of the ship hull. Guest will be able to experience the sound effect. Deep sea sound will be captured across a five-kilometre radius and will be streamed out over a 3D sound system.
