A suction catheter is a medical device used to extract body secretions such as mucus or saliva from the upper respiratory tract. A suction catheter is connected to a suction machine or a collection container. Once one end of the suction catheter is securely attached to an aspirator or the collection container, then the unattached end is directly placed into a trachea tube so as to extract the secretions.
