About Landfill Gas-to-Energy
Due to the depletion of conventional energy resources, landfill gas is expected to become more popular in industrial and commercial power generation. This gas mixture has the unique property of having its calorific value increased by lowering the carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and oxygen levels. Landfill gases are used for commercial and industrial purposes after a few treatments. Landfill gas can be used directly by checking boilers or infrared heaters, after checking its purity and it is a cost-effective alternative to natural gas for powering energy-intensive activities. Landfill gases have an impact on weather change. The two main components of landfill gas, carbon dioxide, and methane, are both greenhouse gases. A methane molecule is 25 times more effective as a heat-trapping gas than an of carbon dioxide molecule. As a result, collecting and using the gas combination emitted from landfills minimizes the amount of carbon dioxide and methane released into the atmosphere.

Market Leaders and their expansionary development strategies
In November 2023, Enbridge has taken another significant step in the business of manufacturing and transporting renewable natural gas (RNG)—by announcing the purchase of seven operating U.S. landfill gas-to-RNG facilities from respected, experienced RNG developer Morrow Renewables
In February 2020- Waga Energy and Veolia partnered to install a Wagabox purifying unit at the Claye-Souilly waste storage center in Seine-et-Marne. It will use garbage to make biomethane and provide renewable gas to 20,000 houses in the Paris area. Wagabox is a ground-breaking biogas recovery system for landfilled garbage. To manufacture biomethane, it isolates the methane from the other components of the biogas produced by the breakdown of organic materials. and Competitive Landscape
