The membrane valve is also called diaphragm valve. The industrial membrane valve consist of a valve body with two or more ports, a diaphragm, and a weir or a weir or saddle or seat upon which the diaphragm closes the valve. The valve body may be constructed from plastic, metal, wood or other materials depending on the intended use. These valves control the flow and pressure of liquids, gases and slurries within a system. The function of the valve include stopping and starting flow, throttling flow and acting as a non-return check for flow. All membrane or diaphragm valves are bidirectional.
