Gin is an alcoholic beverage that is made by redistilling high-proof spirits with juniper berries and other botanicals. Gin is a colorless distilled beverage that is extensively enjoyed around the world. It can be made in a variety of ways, but the predominant flavor is always juniper. Terpenoid chemicals, primarily from juniper berries, but also from other botanicals including coriander seeds, angelica root, and citrus peel, make up the volatile component of gin.
