What is L-Fucose Market?

L-fucose is a monosaccharide that is a common component of many N- and O-linked glycans and glycolipids produced by mammalian cells. It is the fucoidan polysaccharide's essential subunit. L-fucose is often present in animals in extremely low amounts as free sugar. It is distinctive in that mammals alone synthesize and use this particular levorotatory sugar. Fucosyltransferases are responsible for producing fucose polymers. In order to create fucosylated oligosaccharides, all fucosyltransferases use GDP-fucose, a nucleotide-activated form of fucose.
